WordPress Plugins are a collection of pre-made programs that you can download and install to add some certain functionality to your site.
Plugins allow you to add new features to your WordPress blog that don’t come standard with the default installation.
There are 1,000’s of plugins, most of which are free to download and install. For example, there are plugins for e-commerce, Search Engine Optimization, contact forms, ad management, spam protection, and sign up forms, image management, and many more.
